Hi to all!
It seems TinyMe going to lose too much without such powerful tool like this one: http://www.slax.org/modules.php?search=3D+CAD&category= Apparently many of users do not stay on Linux due a lack of natural 3D solid modeling programs. Actually threre are only two of them (working programs) exist- VariCad and GraphiteOne . The first one is done for Slax (have no idea how it works there) and second one is for "disabled" Ubuntu , "heavy weight" SUSE but no one of them for TinyMe and Mandriva derivatives.. Sadly. Just a suggestion. |

RE: Graphics program not included?
First, CAD is somewhat of a specialized tool and I seriously doubt I am going to lose a large number of users because I don't include CAD software.
Second, I am currently trying to reduce the size of the ISO and adding software would increase its size. Also, I'm pretty sure this is probably not a small/lightweight piece of software. Third, the tool you pointed to is not free. Please check the Release Announcement before reporting any issues! Please read the Usage Rules before posting! Check out the FAQ!

RE: Graphics program not included?
I understand your point, however (IMHO) the ISO size in novadays is not an issue when $10,0 costs USB drive 4-6 Gb.
Here is my graphics 3D engineering design program Kompas-3D running under Mandriva Spring 2010 with excelent ($30.0 USD) emulator Wine@Etersoft CAD1.1 (do not miss with WineHQ- this one is absolutely useless for this purpose). Do not add Etersoft software to the TinyMe distributive (it is purchasable for $30.0) but have your system fully compatible in not harm anyway- you will be the first who done it (German VariCAD- just a crap and very "heavy" by all means. I placed below the screenshot from VariCAD running on Mandrive Spring.... no comparision by interface and possibilities against Kompas-3D (believe me I tried both). ![]() Had to resize a bit otherwise the picture is beyond the message field Here is screenshot of the interface VariCAD 3D modeling program. Note the number of buttons for the input commands and what is interesting in this program you do not drill holes first and than inserting a bolts))))) you have to make holes by bolts)))))). Imagine in real life you make a hole for the bolt by bolt))))) hammering it in. ![]() I am sure all the team who created such program should be "shoot up behind the building" where they programming)))). (Joke) I have all the Etersoft files adapted for Mandriva... they can be adapted to TinyMe too. |

RE: Graphics program not included?
The whole point of TinyMe is to make the ISO as small as possible.
You might want to try talking to a different Unity derivative or even Unity itself, but you're barking up the wrong tree. Please check the Release Announcement before reporting any issues! Please read the Usage Rules before posting! Check out the FAQ!
