TinyMe 2010 i586 * FEATURE REQUESTS *
I thought I would start a thread of some things that were either left out (perhaps intentionally from the RC1) or just overlooked, in the hopes that they might make it into the final release, or at least, make sure they work when it is released (whichever applies).
Here are my requests: 1. mousepad/trackpad (or whatever pad you want to call it) scrolling. not having to navigate to the scrollbars in the windows, but just be able to edge scroll or two-finger scroll as with other distros. 2. a more flexible browser than midori (maybe chrome, or chromeplus) 3. double touchpad tap can launch a desktop shortcut __________________________ 1Life.Net 1World.ws CADoutsourcing.org inventiv.org PaprikaBikes.com NetbookOS.com |

RE: TinyMe 2010 i586 * FEATURE REQUESTS *
1 & 3 work on my machine. 2 has been discussed elsewhere (see the FAQ in my sig).
Please check the Release Announcement before reporting any issues! Please read the Usage Rules before posting! Check out the FAQ!

I have looked in vain, in "Configure your computer" and it's mouse selection section, and saw nothing about preferences for touchpad. Normally, when these features are enabled, you can: * define mouse speed and acceleration settings * asks you if you want edge scrolling or doublefinger scrolling or none * do you want to enable or not touchpad tap and doubletap? I have found nothing to that effect. Am I searching in the wrong place, or do you get a different version than the one available for download? Are we supposed to download a utility, or something? BTW, just to be clear on this: as I've reported in the bug thread, mouse tap works PARTIALLY only, in some places, like the back forward arrows, the scrollbar... but not with the pointer in the window and just dragging your finger on the edge of the touchpad, instead of having to use the scrollbars. Also double tap on desktop worked sometimes, doesn't work most of the time (only after I log in as ROOT to perform an operation, reboot, then it might work). I saw in another distro (Puppeee) that if the generic VESA video driver is used, "advanced" mouse features are not available - I don't know if it is the case here - just mentioning it in case it helps. __________________________ 1Life.Net 1World.ws CADoutsourcing.org inventiv.org PaprikaBikes.com NetbookOS.com |
