Boot question
Ok, I have very little knowledge of linux, but I do dabble with live distros and I am learning. Recently I installed tinyme, latest version onto a USB drive. The problem I am running into is that when it looks for the loop image, it says it can not find it an drops me into a limited shell. As i read the output, it appears that it is looking for the loop file system in the cdrom instead of the usb stick/pen drive. This is the output i get:
ERROR: Unable to mount loop filesystem, Commands were: losetup /dev/loop0 initrd/cdrom/livecd.sqfs mount -r -t squashfs /dev/loop0 initrd/loopfs I am running this on a lenoovo d500 thinkpad with centrino 2 processor. Any help would be appreciated. I am wondering if i have to edit a command line to make it look in the usb pendrive instead? Forgive me for my newbie question. Thanks! |

RE: Boot question
What method did you use to put the ISO on the USB drive? Did you check the MD5SUM of the ISO? How much RAM do you have?

Hi there, I did check the MD5SUM and it was all correct. Even downloaded the ISO three times. These are the specs on my system: Intel Core 2 DUO – p8400 @ 2.26 Ghz Ram 2.00 GB I used unetbootin-windows-442 & Universal-USB-Installer-v1.5.3 to install the live CD to the USB pendrive. I get the same error with each. |

RE: Boot question
Have you tried booting off this USB drive with another system?
