Installer Not Working

The unity installer dose not work. I double click the desktop icon and the thing comes up and once I press next it says please wait wait a little bit and it closes. No error nothing just closes.

I am using safe boot if that matters because on all the other including consol i get a probing SCIS devices error it just hangs.

Am running 183 mb ram
Pentium 3
And got an empty 4 gb hard drive

Also the installer did work yesterday just did not install it because it need to downlaod somethign off the internet and it was not connected to the net

I am not sure which version you are using but the package it tries to install from the net is a bug anyway, it doesn't actually install anything. As far as it hanging in normal boot, I have an old Dell Dimension 4100 that does the same thing, if you add noscsi to the boot (pressing tab should let you add it at the grub screen) it will get you past that problem. Hearing that the installer crashes is a new one for me, but I have never tried to install in safe mode before, so it may be related to that. Can you try booting and installing in normal mode using the noscsi option and let us know if that helps?
