Weird keyboard behavior on shell-out; FAM & Gamin
I installed TinyMe-2010-Acorn-RC1b in a Dell 4100 with 997MHz PIII, 512MB RAM and a WD 20GB HD. I have a Generic US 104-key keyboard that, once configured from the CP, functions okay in the GUI, except that double-quotes place two dots above the next letter entered unles I hit it twice and sigle-stick places a backwards accent on the next unless i do likewise!
When I shell out nothing is right in the CLI. for example: q=´, w=, & e=. (continuing), r=p, t=y, y=f. u=g, i=c, o=r, p=l, g=i, z=; , x=q, m=m, ,=w. .=v. Also, I received an error window stating : ¨Unable to establish connection with FAM. Do you have ´FAM¨ or ´Gamin´ installed and running?¨ on one recent boot-up. Any ideas what´s going on with the keyboard input and/or what FAM is? I hav not had any problems with keyboard recognition until installing TinyMe. RE: Weird keyboard behavior on shell-out; FAM & Gamin
You are having the same issue as described in this thread: http://tinymelinux.com/forum/thread-803.html
and in this bug report: http://tinymelinux.com/forum/tracker/issue-30.html At this moment I do not have a permanent fix. However, because of this error and other errors, I am working on rebuilding TinyMe from the latest Unity release. If you saw the FAM error only once and it has not come up again, I would suspect that was just a fluke and not think anything about it. Please check the Release Announcement before reporting any issues! Please read the Usage Rules before posting! Check out the FAQ!
