wireless error
Hi
I have Asus EeePc 901 with ralink rt2860sta wireless connection.
In live mode I copy rt2860.bin (from Mandriva and also the same from ralink web) to /lib/firmware.
Using configuration tool, it recognizes the ralink and also the driver but...the system stops with error.
How can I connect in live mode to wireless?
The rt2860 is ok and works with Mandriva and other distros without problem
Thanks
jtouso

Your attempt to enable the driver might be blocked by this issue: http://tinymelinux.com/forum/tracker/issue-25.html

I should have updated packages available soon.

RE: wireless error
I think we might have to build the rt2860 kernel module. I'll check on that one and report

RE: wireless error
there's a little delay. I've been working on the livecd detection and the introduction of plymouth as the splash engine. The next release should be quite interesting.

RE: wireless error
The rebuilt packages have hit the repositories. Go to http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dist...i586/main/ and download all the RPMs (except drakxtools-http) to a new folder on a USB drive. Plug the USB drive into your TinyMe system and navigate to the folder which has the RPMs. Press F4 to open a terminal and run:

Code:
su
#[give root password]
rpm -Uvh *rpm

Try setting up your network card again.

RE: wireless error
Thanks. At least now we are getting a better idea. Can you check if those packages are installed

mandi-ifw
wpa-supplicant

If not install them and try again the WEP encryption.
