RC-1 Pre-release
Well, I am just amazed at how well this pre-release is doing!

I went out and picked up an Acer Aspireone. 250G HDD, no optical drive, Intel Atom on 94GSE Express Chipset.

I selected the "alternative load" and I was stunned to see it boot right through to the login. I just had to set the resolution to "Automatic" and everything is incredibly quick.

Just have to figure out how to set up the WIFI. I am using Midori to send this.

Unfortunately the funky keyboard layout problem is still there. When I booted from the "Default" I ended up having to "oosk" then translate XFdrake, and startx in order to get to a GUI.

I will get back to the old PIIIs and try to get them to boot from a CD in a while.

Thanks again for all the effort. Amir, the pointer is great!

Take care,

Paul

RE: RC-1 Pre-release
Do you mean the "dvorak" layout? I wasn't affected here even when I chose all defaults (US keyboard).

Yes, if the TinyMe does not load the GUI login I end up with the dvorak layout and I have to cross ref the keys in order to "login", run "XFdrake" and then restart "x".

Can you not access the display even with the vesa option in the boot?

I can but I have to use the cheat "noscsi". I can then go and change the video driver to "intel 810 and later" as well as to set the resolution to the proper 1024x600.
