hi all
i have been a member since the first week in feburary but at that time i was deep in linux land trying to find a distro for a low resource puter and didnt have the time to chat or much of anything else;-(.
an internet friend of mine, that taught me 99% of what i know about windows (i clean malware in windows and have for 8 yrs) and 100% of what i know about ubuntu, was having a problem with his puter and eventually it crashed (worked very hard for 10 yrs) so i went on a mission to find a linux distro for his old 98 puter. years back he had me install a rack for inserts and it has grown to 6 hd's which i used extensivly lately.
i bought a 50 cd pack and started downloading the distos that might work on his low resource machine. after some time i narrowed it from 43 to 2 distros but i never realized there are soooo many distros and soooo many ways to install them....whew!
in the end when he tried to run the 2008.1 or 2010 live cd's his video card wouldnt display, dont remember exactly what happened and he has since switched to crunchbang (too much ubuntu for me) and is happy and im glad for him;-).
this has been an eye opener for me to say the least but ive broadened my horizions and learned alot!! im using 2008.1 and 2010 beta2 on my old 98 hd (20 gig) and waiting for the general public release of 2010.
i want to thank all who are involved in the tinyme distro...kudos to all!!!!! tinyme runs fast on my puter, 1 gig ram 1.6 gig processor, and im dumping ubuntu soon but right now and untill december i work from 7am till dark thirty, avg 70 hrs aweek in underground construction so its hard to find the time to do all;-(.
keep up the good work and ill check in every now and then to see whats the latest news.
again, thanks to all for ttinyme!!.
