Re: Dvorak Madness: LiveCD boots with wrong keyboard layout - [',.py] not [qwerty]..
well, I have a psuedo fix... after updating vbox additions, I changed the keyboard layout in mcc from 105 (int) to 104... and after a reboot, I got qwerty at the console login... so I remastered, burned and tossed the cd in my external opt and booted up my revo... AND I ACTUALLY GOT QWERTY AT CONSOLE LOGIN! Big Grin

I call it a psuedo fix because I still get the other layout during verbose boot screen... but qwerty at console is where I really wanted to be, so for now, I'm good Big Grin I can install on my Revo (as I am doing at this exact moment) ;D

but I'd like this to stay open until there is a permenant fix to the issue...

What we build isn't sold in stores...

well, even using the default qwerty keyboard with default US setup, the default keymap is generated.  While you might be right about it not being necessary,  I cannot afford to reset it when mklivecd creates a new iso.  This would cause mayhem for remasters from countries with different keyboards layouts.

At least we know what to look for.  This issue really only affect iso for broad distribution so only affects few users.  However I am currently compiling a document on mklivecd for distributions release and this will fit in just right.

Thank you again.

With all due respect to the above posters, there isn't much help for the poor user here that I have seen.

It is pretty ugly but from the desktop, bringing up a console and becoming root, "loadkeys us" (or other keymap) will fix it for that session. "@#$%!! What was that $@&## command I used???) again the next time. Ugly to have to fix the console from the desktop!!!

Compaq Presario laptop with a k-6 433Mhz with 2010 Acorn rc-1b running from the hard drive.

Just to let you know I'm having this issue with the latest RC 2010-08-20 on a P3 450MHz with 512Mb ram.

Put in the disk, it tries to run the livecd and ends at the terminal login prompt (localhost login: ). Typing `root` results in `prry`.

I'm using a std US keyboard.
