Intel support seems to really suck, despite being OK under Ubuntu!
It looks a lot like the Intel support is real outdated!
It seems to refuse 3D support, despite 3D is confirmed to be working properly under Ubuntu! And keeps giving me a message about my video not liking framebuffer! I'm beginning to wonder if that message is a lie, because number 1, it's NOT an i810 or i815, it's the GMA3100! This should never be an issue, because number 1, Intel don't have proprietary-driver-blob heck, unlike Nvidia! And thus, I get full Intel video support out-of-the-box with Ubuntu! The origin of the problem, appears to be Mandriva, which is what Unity appears to be based on. BTW, the above message looks like what I got in Mandriva. Looks like Mandriva dropped the ball with video support that don't even require proprietary blobs! Sad, but true! |

Re: Intel support seems to really suck, despite being OK under Ubuntu!
Just out of curiosity, you say you've experienced this issue under Mandriva as well. Did you make a post or file a bug or anything with Mandriva?
Please check the Release Announcement before reporting any issues! Please read the Usage Rules before posting! Check out the FAQ!
