Re: Live CD "searching for loop image"
***update***

Looks like this may be resolved by changing bios settings as this problem looks to have cropped up with the newer PCLinuxOS.  I will play around with the bios settings and post.

Tried the noscsi on the Toshiba with LiveCD and Safe Boot but the results are the same.

I remember that I had the same problem with PCLinuxOS with the last release.  For my desktop I ended up swapping in a non SATA DVD/CD to load PCLinuxOS then swapped back the SATA once PCLinuxOS was installed.  There is a solution as I managed to get PCLinuxOS on the Toshiba but I cannot find it on their forum.  I am not sure that it would apply to the new kernel (I know nothing about programing so I am guessing here) but it might be a place to start.

If you like fire off a list of commands that you would like me to try and I will get them done and send you the results.  It is Christmas Eve so I have time today to do a bunch of ¨trial and error¨  attempts.

I appreciate your effort as I really want to get TinyMe on the Toshiba.

Thanks,

Paul H

Changing SATA setting to AHCI from Compatable in bios did not help.

Still plugging away at a solution.

Re: Live CD "searching for loop image"
Coming to you from TinyMe on the Toshiba!  I had to use unetbootin to put it onto my USB stick.

KD, now I can see why you do not bother with CDs anymore.  This is so much easier!

I understand the desire to make CDLive work with SATA optical drives and I will gladly help: however, any computer/laptop that has SATA will have a USB and can boot from USB.  I would suggest anyone having SATA problems just boot from USB as it is so much easier.  Having done it once I will never use a CD again on any computer that unetbootin works with.  Older computers can just use the CD as they do not have SATA optical drives.

This TinyMe is great!  I am very much looking forward to the final releases.

Keep me posted on what you want me to do in order to get the SATA DVD/CD drive problem resolved.

Have a Merry Christmas,

Paul H
