Testing 2010-Acorn-Beta-1
I've installed to my old PII-450 (384MB RAM) and I have one issue so far. When I launch Midori the window appears briefly then closes, the message in console just shows "Illegal instruction". I've tried changing some of the Midori options but it hasn't helped so far. Ideas, anyone?

Try cleaning out ~/.config/midori. I placed some default configuration settings in there. Maybe they're messing it up.

Midori 0.2.2 has been released and I'll have that packaged in the next couple of days.

When starting Midori after a crash, choose "Set Preferences".  In Preferences, choose the Behavior Tab and deselect the "Enable Scripts" box.

Re: Testing 2010-Acorn-Beta-1
After installing java, you can go to Preferences in Midori and select "Enable Scripts" again.  Now, Midori will work with java and will not crash on startup.

Thanks, that did the trick. Curious that I did not need to do this on my laptop, running Midori from livecd mode works OOB but it runs a Turion X2 processor... I'll have to try adding Java to the PII install and then see if I can re-enable the scripts option.

Re: Testing 2010-Acorn-Beta-1
Nope, it didn't fix the problem on the PII by adding Java. Midori must have some CPU optimizations compiled in with regards to its handling of scripting languages (Java, JavaScript) because I also have Firefox installed on the PII and it works with all the script options turned on...

Re: Testing 2010-Acorn-Beta-1
I have used Midori 2.2 quite a bit in both TinyMe 2010 and Fedora 11.  TinyMe needs to have "Enable scripts" disabled always in TinyMe 2010 only.  Midori's web site says glib 2.16 causes crash problems and to use version 2.18, but since we are using 2.22 this should not be a problem.  Fedora 11's Midori 2.2 works well, except I have issues with Midori's Java handling.

In TinyMe, I removed the flash and java rpms so there would be no Netscape plugins.  Midori still crashed if I selected "Enable scripts".

Also, I removed the Unity Linux Midori rpms and installed Mandriva 2010 Midori.  Mandriva's Midori also crashed if I selected "Enable scripts".

Later, I removed the Mandriva Midori rpm and installed Fedora 11 Midori's rpm.  It crased if I selected "Enable scripts".

Thus, it seems to me that something external to the Midori Package is a problem for this browser.
