Re: Mouse doesnt work on laptop
Welcome to the forum Bolle.
Did you try to load in safemode or vesa mode on the livecd? Do you get the same issue? Did you use the lzma or bzip iso? What's your laptop spec? When you press the escape key at the boot stage, you will switch to verbose mode, do you see any [FAIL] message? |

Re: Mouse doesnt work on laptop
Do you get the [FAIL] message? It's the most probable cause. It should happen just before the switch to the login screen. One of the side effects is the lack of mouse support. I thought this was fixed so maybe your issue is different.

Re: Mouse doesnt work on laptop
Can you try something for me?
At the boot screen, press F3 to edit the command and add the number 3, then press enter. This will limit your boot sequence to init3 (verbose login). Log in as root (password is "root"). Then type Quote:gdmThis will launch the graphical login and you should be able to see if you get mouse support. |

( there was nothing there before ) pressed enter, got to the text login, logged into root, and typed gdm and it said something like bash% gdm command not found or something .

Re: Mouse doesnt work on laptop
Sorry bolle. There's something really strange. There's one last attempt you could try. When you get to the command line (before you type startx). type:
do-vesa (it should be included on the livecd. This will reset the xorg file to a "basic version"). Next type startx to get to the desktop again. Otherwise I think Kdulcimer is getting the next beta ready and hopefully that'll fix your issue. |
