No system start with unity-build-3.7
Hi,

some weeks ago a managed this installation on a fast computer. Then I took the harddisk to an old computer with 700Mhz. Starting the same linux-system I get kernel panic.

If I change the units from sda to hda, then the system freezes while starting.

What shall I do?

Regards
Svgt

What processor is in the old 700Mhz computer?

All you did was move the hard drive from the new computer to the old computer? Is the hard drive SATA or PATA? Are you using SATA or PATA adapters?

I only moved the drive. In both computers there are PATA connections without any adapters.

The cpu at the old system is Intel pentium III 700 MHz

Did you keep the drive at the primary master position?

Re: No system start with unity-build-3.7
I kept the drive in the primary position in old the computer, now in sda, unity on sda4 partition.

But I dont remember, whether the drive in the modern computer was at sda or sdc (both primary positions)

I made just a screenshot with my digicam. It is to big with 1MB for a normal attachment. In which way I can send it to you?
