not sure what happened, but I have a good idea....
I have two Dell laptops that I am using to install Tinyme on one. The first computer (let's call it "Joe" for confusion's sake) is bigger in physical size and capabilities. the second one("Ted")is smaller in size and capabilities, and is the destination computer. Ted cannot boot the live disk, but Joe can. so I thought that I would do a HDD transplant, install using Joe, return Ted's hard drive to him, and voiala! (It's worked before) I booted Ted, watched it go through it's processes, and in a command prompt fashion, asks for my username and password. after stumbling around, I gave it "reboot" and watched it again. no change. I put the hard drive into Joe, and I boot with no problems. I think that installing on Joe might have hardwired Joe's capabilities into the running system, and Ted was left out in the dust with a command prompt.

What I want to know is what exactly happened (was I right or if there is a different reason), and how can I ultimatley get TinyMe onto Ted.

Anything would help,
Superd@ve

When you install, make sure the display's resolution is something the destination system can handle. 800x600, 16bit color, 60hz refresh rate ought to be pretty universal.
