MODEM USB CONEXANT-CONFIGURATION CONNECTION

Hi, I'm newbie and I need help forn an exact configuration of my modem USB Conexant.
I've installed it with its driver "craxcru-fw.bin" ( I've got it in internet....).
If I follow the wizard of configuration of PC Control OS, I configure perfectly the modem and the connection works ; but I can't save it ( or better I don't Know how and where I can save my configuration and how I can create an icon on desktop for a quick start of it......).
Instead if I try to use PPP ( icon with red phone on desktop) and I give the command "detect" I've a replay " no modem detected"........and I can't end the configuration of that icon....
What's the problem?
Can anybody tell me how solve this?
