My expirience - How to boot live CD!
I have found many questions about not have possibility to boot from CD.I have the same problem with many distributions. So, somewhere I found one command which have to be added after all words in boot options. It is " boot: live acpi=off " -without question marks. It is said that many lap-tops mady after 2000Y need this command to boot.
If I solve somebody's problem,I'll be happier. Do not forget that you must type this command every time you turn on the computer. I do in that way |

And finally, if you have this problem, you can add that command by editing menu.lst.
Open file system--> boot folder--> grub--> then option Tool (open current folder as root) You have just have to edit menu.lst by adding " boot: live acpi=off " Here is my list after and before editing: |

Um, take a good look at that line again. You specify the acpi settings twice. And the codes you type in for the LiveCD do not necessarily correlate to Grub menu.lst entries.

kernel (hd0,6)/boot/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=linux root=/dev/hdc7 acpi=on resume=/dev/hdc6 splash=silent vga=788 boot: live acpi=off it should be: kernel (hd0,6)/boot/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=linux root=/dev/hdc7 acpi=off resume=/dev/hdc6 splash=silent vga=788 Please check the Release Announcement before reporting any issues!
