How do you use TinyMe?

How do you use TinyMe?
I'm curious how people use TinyMe, so I thought I'd post a poll and ask. Do you use TinyMe as the main OS on your main work computer? Do you play around with it in a spare partition?

I have created this poll so you can change your vote if you wish.

As for me, I'd actually have to confess that I don't even use TinyMe as my primary OS. :o PCLinuxOS is my main operating system. I have been known from time to time to switch over to LXDE for my desktop environment, but most of the time I'm using KDE.

Please check the Release Announcement before reporting any issues!

Re: How do you use TinyMe?
Whell my option is a little bit stranger. My maine OS is pclos 2008, secondary is windows(one in virtual box and one directly on the hdd, and allso secondary is tinyme in virtual box in pclos and windows.
Oh and no offence but KDE still rules(for newer pc's, not for older one for which is tinyme and lxde rulse <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /> ).

Re: How do you use TinyMe?
I've got a fairly limited machine, so I spent a bunch of time looking for a Linux distro to run on it. Windows XP was working fine, but I wanted to try something new. Wasn't satisfied with either Xubuntu or Puppy Linux. Found TinyMe and love it.
I use it about as much as Windows, but thats only because it's a family computer so if they've got windows booted when I get home I usually just stick with it.

Sure it's got its kinks, but I like it.

EDIT: I voted for the first option, btw

Utopia Politics & General Talk.  Not for the faint of heart.

Re: How do you use TinyMe?
Hello,
I posted a vote as the primary OS
on my main computer.

I installed this on my 2000
8 year old e-machines computer
with 633mh processor and 256mb RAM.

I have tried PCLOS 2007,
Mandriva 2008.1 and
Mandriva 2009.0 Gnome.

I like TinyMe because it doesn't
use much RAM to run.
Very similiar to PCLOS 2007,
which I liked also.

I am currently running
Mandriva 2008.1 on my
wifes new dell laptop.

Just thought I would
let you know.

Re: How do you use TinyMe?
Someone gave me an Acer Aspire 1350 with XP and just 186 MB RAM. She told me it was useless, too slow, too big... WinXP was running terribly slowly (and BTW I don't like Windows at all), so I thought to give it a new life.
I never heard before of TinyMe (I'm a Debian guy), so I tried to install XFCE or Fluxbuntu by Debian, Ubuntu, then OpenSuse (!), but nothing (OpenSuse worked, but only with the twm environment, which is too minimalistic for me). Then I went to the Distrowatch db, searched for tiny distros, avoided Puppy (which I dislike) and...uhm...TinyMe, why not?
Fast download, fast burn, fast installation (ehm, not so fast, cause X refused to work with default boot entry), and everything was fine (except for Audacious, that didn't worked and I removed in favour of VLC).
My primary machine is Debian, my little old (but renewed) laptop is...Tiny.

Bye

Re: How do you use TinyMe?
My laptop is an old Sony Viao , 256 mb ram, 20 gig hard drive that I picked up at a garage sale. Makes it useable as a matter of fact I think I have used more than the orgianal owner. Sony shipped the lap top with Windows XP and was barely usable even when new. Tiny me saved the lap top from the recycler. Mostly used for internet. Thanks to those who made Tiny Me. Love PCLinuxOS on my main rig.

Re: How do you use TinyMe?
XP is my primary OS simply because I play World Of Warcraft regularly with real life friends & i've had less than great success making it run on Linux with Wine.

I'm actually working on that now when I get some free time using TinyMe with my free copy of cross-over office.

I use Tiny on my old Thinkpad laptop.
It's got 256mb ram & a 333mhz celeron.

I use it for internet & emulators.
Usually to look stuff up while playing WOW.
It's a little chuggy with firefox when it comes to browsing busy sites but for forum browsing it's just fine.

Re: How do you use TinyMe?
Primary OS on main computer was my vote, my system is fairly low end and i try to run as light apps as possible.

I use it for browsing, playing mp3/divx/dvd , p2p, irc, msn and writing documents.
